Nissan GT-R joins in FIA GT1 Championship

CEO of SRO Motorsports Group, Stephane Ratel, unveiled the Nissan GT-R built according to FIA GT1 Technical Regulations. Also unveiled was the Matech Concept Ford GT1.
Sales for the race-prepped version will begin early next year, when Nissan officially enters the championship.
The Nismo-developed race car will debut on 3rd May in Silverstone and will compete in four races this year to test its performance. The GT-R will be piloted by drivers Michael Krumm and Darren Turner.
According to motoring website, MotorAuthority, the race version will be powered by a VK56DE V8 engine, displacing 5.6 litres, producing 600 hp and 650 Nm of torque. A Ricardo six-speed transaxle will send power to the rear wheels, while braking power will be provided by carbon-ceramic discs and six-piston calipers.
