Nissan has revealed a new Hyper Urban concept, the first of a series of concepts which will all bear the word 'hyper' in their names, all intended to build excitement in the leadup to the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo.
The Nissan Hyper Urban concept is said to be designed to cater to urban and suburban-based professionals who prioritise environmental sustainability.
On its exterior is a chromatic lime yellow body, subtly changing depending on the angle that light reflects off it - an effect which Nissan states, allows the car to both draw attention while also allowing it to blend into its surroundings. This exterior is said to represent the firm's future design and the technological capabilities of its electric offerings.
As with the recently revealed Concept 20-23, this Hyper Urban concept also gets scissor doors and sizeable tyres, the former offering a sense of openness, while the latter aiding a sportier look.
In the cabin, the Hyper Urban concept gets an instrument panel that can be replaced, allowing the fitment of new technologies and allowing the car to keep up with changing trends in user interfaces. This move is designed to give the vehicle a longer lifespan, aiding its sustainability.
The car also gets front seats that can collapse on fold into those at the rear, allowing the creation of a sofa-like private space for relaxation.
Finally, the car will also support vehicle-to-grid technology, allowing owners to power their home via its batteries, or to contribute surplus power to the electrical grid during times of high demand. An intelligent charging management system within the car will manage the available power without human intervention.
