Nissan Singapore has showcased the all-electric Ariya, and launched the new X-Trail here at the 2023 Singapore Motor Show.
The Nissan Ariya is the firm's first all-electric coupe crossover, and showcases a new design direction for the firm as it enters a new electric age, described as Timeless Japanese Futurism. This design philosophy, Nissan states, is charaterised by its minimalist, yet modern and simple-yet-powerful character.
Up front, the Nissan shield has been reinterpreted for the electric era, and features a Japanese kumiko pattern just under its smooth surface. It is also here that the various sensors form the firm's ProPILOT functions and Intelligent Key detection are hidden.
This grille is flanked by thin LED headlamps, constructed with four 20mm mini-projectors, and are combined with sequential turn signals to reinvent Nissan's signature V-motion design. At the rear, the Nissan Ariya sports a steeply raked C-pillar that flows into a single-piece light blade.
Step inside and a minimalist dashboard greets you, playing host to a display interface that features both a 12.3-inch instrument monitor and 12.3-inch centre display.
The Nissan Ariya is offered with either a 63kWh or an 87kWh net capacity battery internationally. Power output ranges from 215bhp to 389bhp.
Also new here from Nissan is the X-Trail e-POWER. The SUV comes equipped with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder drivetrain which puts its power to the road via a 201bhp electric motor at the front axle, and a 134bhp one at the rear.
Power is distributed in the X-Trail e-POWER across either axle via the firm's new e-4orce technology, which is said to offer raised driving performance and drive confidence on a wide variety of road surfaces.
The Nissan X-Trail e-POWER will deliver a total of 575 litres of boot space with the third row of seats folded, and offers a claimed fuel consumption of 14.9km/L.
