Opel has revealed the updated MPV variant of the Combo Electric alongside the new Zafira Electric MPV.
Just like their commercial counterparts, the new MPVs both come with a redesigned front which seamlessly integrates the LED head lights of either vehicle. These head lights are now available with the firm’s Intelli-Lux LED Matrix technology, which utilises a total of seven LED elements on each side to ensure optimal illumination the dark and without glaring other road users.
The people carrier version of the Opel Combo Electric is being offered in two different lengths, with the first reaching a total of 4,410mm, and the second stretching to 4,760mm. Only the longer version of the Combo Electric will offer three rows of seating, allowing it to seat up to seven. All passengers here will also be guaranteed fantastic views, thanks to the addition of a panoramic sunroof that sports an electrically operated sunshade.
Access to the rear cargo area (which can reach up to 4,000 litres) is possible via a separately opening window in the tailgate.
Powering the MPV variant of the Combo Electric is the same 50kWh battery and electric motor as its commercial variant. This drivetrain gives the vehicle a range of 330km, and a total power output of 134bhp.
But for those that want yet more space, the larger Zafira Electric is also available. Offered in two different lengths (4,980mm and 5,330mm), the Zafira Electric can seat up to nine-people, although customers eyeing high comfort can also opt to have a total of four independent seats in the last two rows of the vehicle. Sensor-controlled electric sliding doors at either side of the vehicle will ensure easy egress and ingress for all.
This Opel Zafira offers a maximum of 1,500 litres of cargo space when specified with nine seats. Powering this Opel Zafira is the same electric motor in the Combo, however, a larger 75kWh battery can be specified for the Zafira Electric, which allows it to post a WLTP range of 350km.
Both the MPV variants of the Opel Zafira Electric and Opel Combo will also come with a fully digital 10-inch driver's instrument cluster, while a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen promises state-of-the-art graphics alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and also comes with voice recognition technology.
