The third iteration of Peugeot's E-Lion Day - an annually-held virtual media conference - saw the French firm reinforcing its commitment to electrification, while continuing to offer partially combustion-powered options to those not ready to make the full electric switch.
Headlining the conference was the confirmation of an expanded electric lineup for Peugeot.
All-wheel drive variants of the E-3008 (left/above) and larger E-5008 (right/below) are soon set to land in global dealerships. Peugeot is also rolling out a five-seater variant of the latter, which has a massive 994-litre boot with both rows of seating in place
Soon to hit dealerships across the globe are all-wheel drive variants of both the E-3008 and E-5008 electric SUVs. Utilising the same dual-motor powertrain, both cars will get a peak output of 322bhp, courtesy of a 211bhp motor on the front axle and an additional 111bhp motor sending power to the rear wheels.
While the E-5008 is mostly known for its seven-seat versatility, Peugeot will soon also offer a five-seater variant, aimed at customers seeking a larger loading capacity.
Even with the second row in place, the five-seater E-5008 offers 994 litres of boot space - or 78 litres more than the seven-seater in the same configuration. Fold those seats down, and the luggage capacity expands to a whopping 2,310 litres, which is said to be sufficient for two large, one medium, and 12 small suitcases.
At the moment, it remains unclear whether newly-appointed local dealer, Cycle & Carriage, has plans to bring these new models to the Singapore market, with a spokesperson replying to a request for comment that the firm was still "evaluating options".
Peugeot also took the opportunity at the 2025 E-Lion Day to reiterate its electrification strategy for those still hesitant about making the full switch to battery-electric vehicles (BEVs).
Among the firm's electrified powertrains now are hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, which share the same platform as its BEVs.
A highlight is Peugeot's 48V mild hybrid 'Hybrid e-DCS6' powertrain, for instance, consists of a new-generation 135bhp engine coupled with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that integrates an electric motor.
The Hybrid e-DCS6 system is offered on nearly the entire range in markets abroad - from the 208 to 5008 - and offers additional low-end torque while reducing fuel consumption. In urban driving conditions, Peugeot even states that it allows its cars to operate in full-electric mode for as much as half the time.
Finally, the firm took the chance to underscore its support for its customers with extensive eight-year vehicle and battery warranties (applicable in European markets), and reaffirm its support for education projects promoting environment protection, such as Born Free, and Under The Pole.
