Porsche is celebrating the successful conclusion of the fifth iteration of its Icons of Porsche Festival, which drew a record crowd of more than 30,000 visitors, and also brought both older and modern icons of its lineup together.
Taking place this year in the Dubai Design District, the spotlight at Icons of Porsche was cast specifically on the meeting of two generations of the Cayenne SUV: The recently-unveiled Cayenne Electric, as well as a first-generation Cayenne carrying a host of Sonderwunsch refinements.
This Sonderwunsch-refined 2009 Porsche Cayenne GTS gets a Black Olive paint coat and English Green interior
Specifically, the latter was a 2009 Porsche Cayenne GTS that marks the first 'Factory Re-Commission' project under Porsche's Sonderwunsch division (translating to "special request or wish"), which gathers the best minds from the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and Porsche Classic departments to bring a customer's bespoke drams to life.
Refurbished to new-car condition, the particular Cayenne GTS in question was decked out in retro-inspired Black Olive paintcoat (a Paint to Sample colour), and saw a number of its lower body sections as well as its alloy wheels finished in matt black.
Large swathes of its interior also sport leather upholstery in English Green (also a Leather to Sample colour) and the brand's iconic Pasha fabric pattern in Black/Olive.
As mentioned, coming face to face with the Sonderwunsch-refined, first-generation Cayenne in Dubai was the all-new Cayenne Electric, which now holds the honour of being the most powerful production Porsche ever.
Porsche has been eager to highlight the fact that the Cayenne Electric is most customisable Cayenne yet from the factory, with 13 exterior colours, 12 interior combinations, and up to five interior packages and five accent packages available.
Of course, Dubai's Icons of Porsche also showcased other luminous members of the current lineup, spanning the latest 911 Turbo S with T-Hybrid technology, the all-electric Macan GTS, and the 911 GT3 with the track-oriented Manthey Kit (previously reserved only for the 911 GT3 RS).
Also showcased were the 911 GT3 with the Manthey Kit (available for the first time on the model), and a special 911 Targa art car with Labubu in the driver's seat
The colourful might of the Sonderwunsch programme was once brought to the fore too with a Panamero Turbo E-Hybrid Sonderwunsch, which featured a bespoke interior with fade effects and contrasting colours that corresponded to its exterior, and also featured a humidor and Champagne cooler in its cabin.
Other highlights in Dubai included a Porsche 911 Targa art car with Labubu in the driver's seat, and the iconic Carrera GT, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025.
