Porsche has unveiled a new Macan T.
The letter 'T' here stands for 'Touring', which, in Porsche's parlance, designates the model as the one to get if you're looking for what Porsche states is an 'authentic driving experience'. Models with the designation are said to get precision handling touches, alongside exclusive equipment and efficient engines.
The Porsche Macan T distinguishes itself from the outside with its exterior mirrors, side blades, roof spoiler finished in grey alongside Sports tailpipes Equipped with a 261bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine, the Macan T will sit between the base Macan and the Macan S in the compact SUV lineup. 58.8kg lighter than the 2.6-litre V6 fitted to the Porsche Macan S and GTS, the 2.0-litre unit has been picked here to ensure high cornering ability for the Macan T.
A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, coupled to the Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive system will put all that power onto the road in the Macan T.
Porsche states the Macan T, when equipped with the Sport Chrono Package, will complete the zero to 100km/h sprint in just 6.2 seconds. Top speed for the compact SUV meanwhile, stands at 232km/h.
On the handling front, the Porsche Macan T is the only model in the lineup to get steel springs combined with the Porsche Active Suspension Management electronic damping control system. The body of the Macan T has also been lowered by 15mm, while the car will also receive beefier anti-roll bars at the front. All these improvements, Porsche states, gives the Macan T responsive steering behaviour and agile handling.
The grey exterior touches are carried into the cabin of the Porsche Macan T as silver stitching on the seats, headrests and steering wheel Customers will however, still get the option to have their Macan T with adaptive suspension (which drops the body by another 10mm) alongside Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus to sharpern their car further if desired.
On the outside, the Porsche Macan T gets its exterior mirrors, side blades, roof spoiler and logos on the rear finished in Agate Grey Metallic. The car also gets Sports tailpipes and its side window trims finished in black as standard.
This grey is carried over in the cabin as silver stitching on the seats, headrests and steering wheel, while door entry guards come in black aluminium featuring a 'Macan T' logo further help to set the model apart.
