Punggol Point LRT station to commence service on 29th December

Residents of Punggol, especially those staying along Punggol 17th Avenue, will soon become more connected to the Town Centre with the opening of Punggol Point Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Station (PW3) on Thursday (29th December). It will join Sam Kee Station (PW1), Nibong Station (PW5), Sumang Station (PW6), Soo Teck Station (PW7) and Punggol Town Centre Station on the West Loop of the Punggol LRT system.
Trains will operate at a frequency of between seven and eight minutes. The timings of the first and last train will remain the same. From Mondays to Saturdays, services will begin at 5:18am and end at 12:40am. On Sundays and public holidays, trains will run from 5:38am to 12:40am. On the eves of public holidays, the last train departs from Punggol Town Centre at 1:07am.
From the start of operations to 3:00pm daily, the trains will run from Sam Kee Station (PW1) to Punggol Town Centre Station, in a continuous loop. From 3:00pm to closing time, they will travel in the opposite direction, from Punggol Town Centre Station to Sam Kee Station (PW1). This will help a majority of commuters get to the Town Centre faster during the first half of the day, and return home during the second half.
