At the ongoing Sao Paulo Motor Show Renault unveiled the Novo Clio and the Fluence GT, which is the first Renault Sport model made for the Brazilian market. Not only that, Renault has set new records allowing it to become the 5th-ranking brand there with Brazil being the second-largest market for the Renault group.
Novo Clio, which is to be manufactured in Argentina, is an evolution of the Clio II and it features the new Renault brand identity. The styling was tweaked by Renault Design America Latina (RDAL) to match the domestic market in terms of design and personalisation. Renault Technologies America (RTA) contributed to Novo Clio's low fuel consumption.
The Fluence GT on the other hand is the first vehicle to bear the Renault Sport signature in Brazil with the sporty version to be equipped with an 180bhp turbo-compressed engine, a sport chassis and a design that echoes the performance genes of the vehicle.
Both the vehicles will be sold in Brazil starting in November. Renault is the 5th-ranking brand in Brazil, which is also one of the three important emerging market besides Russia and India. Thanks to a 21% increase in sales in 2011, Brazil became Renault's second-largest market after France.
