Skoda is gearing up to manufacture the next generation Kodiaq at its Kvasiny plant in the Czech Republic.
The firm states that comprehensive adaptation of its production line has already begun, and that it has already produced the first pilot production vehicles, with series production of the next generation cars set to commence in 2024.
Skoda is aiming for a daily production rate of up to 410 Kodiaqs at this plant, which currently also manufactures the Karoq, Superb, and Superb iV. The new generation Superb, however, will be manufactured at the firm's Bratislava plant in early 2024, which will free up capacity at Kvasiny to allow the manufacture of a targeted total of 150,000 units of the Kodiaq and Karoq annually.
Skoda has additionally invested a total of $17.3 million (€12 million) into the manufacturing line of the new Kodiaq to prepare for a future Kodiaq iV with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
