With its stylish design and incredible practicality, the Skoda Kodiaq has managed to become one of the brand's top-selling models, ranking third within its entire lineup.
Today, the all-new Kodiaq has been officially unveiled in Singapore, growing in size to offer more space, along with a host of new features and impressive equipment as standard.
Upon the initial glance, those unfamiliar might mistake the all-new Kodiaq for a facelift. However, it is actually an entirely new car that is now build upon the Volkswagen Group MQB Evo platform - the same one that underpins the current Octavia.
The Kodiaq has grown by 61mm in length - all of which can be found at the rear overhang area, increasing the boot space from 270 litres to 340 litres with all seats up. This expands to 845 litres with the third row down, and to a maximum of 2,035 litres with all seats folded. The car is also 2mm lower than before, which in tandem with the lengthened body, results in a leaner silhouette.
The Kodiaq's iconic quad head light design has been retained, but now with Skoda's second-generation LED Matrix beam as standard
Up front, the Kodiaq retains its iconic 'four-eyed' head light design, now with Skoda's second-generation LED Matrix beam head lights as standard. This trick pair of head lights is a powerhouse that consists of a Matrix Beam module with 36 pixels, a Bi-LED module, side light and all-weather light, along with a daytime running light that doubles as a direction indicator.
The grille's light strip is broken up by the slats within to create a unique light signature; functional vents can be found on the bumper of the Kodiaq
Flanked by the head lights is a large octagonal grille with a horizontal light strip that is broken up by the slats within, creating a unique light signature. The front bumper features a wide continuous air intake with honeycomb structure along with functional side vents.
A striking pair of taillights with 3D crystalline structure completes the stylish design at the rear
Look past the front end and the sculpted body of the Kodiaq with a stylishly tapered roofline will lead you to the rear-end that features a striking pair of taillights with 3D crystalline structure within.
Head inside the new Kodiaq and you'll be greeted by a spacious and fresh interior, headlined by a brand-new 13.0-inch infotainment system that features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 13.0-inch infotainment system features handy and customisable shortcut keys for easy access to various features
Designed with user experience in mind, the infotainment system has a new menu structure with an array of customisable shortcuts to allow quick access to features that you frequent.
Below the large display are the new smart dials with integrated digital displays - a quick press on the centre of the dial allows you to toggle between various functions that could be adjusted by rotating the knob surrounding the display. Head further south and you'll find two wireless charging trays with active cooling.
Driving the Kodiaq, you will be pampered by the electrically adjustable driver seat and a complete suite of driver assist systems
The driver will also enjoy the convenience of an electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function, along with a complete suite of driver assist systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Assist with braking reaction to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, Lane Assist and Side Assist, to ensure a relaxing and safe drive.
The spacious cabin of the Kodiaq will allow you to transport up to six passengers in comfort with a good amount of legroom and headroom.
The all-new Skoda Kodiaq will be offered in its sole Selection trim, powered by an updated 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged TSI engine that produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque, all of which are sent through a seven-speed DSG transmission, to the front wheels.
