Skoda has revealed in full the Roadiaq, its ninth student car. The Skoda Roadiaq was built by a total of 29 apprentices with the support of Skoda's staff, and designed to serve as a multifunctional mobile-office camper.
The Skoda Roadiaq comes with a two-tone Emerald Green and Moon White paint finish. Based on the Enyaq 80x Sportline, the vehicle comes with all-wheel drive and delivers a total power output of 201bhp and 310Nm of torque.
This drivetrain allows it to fulfill the brief of serving as a multifunctional camping and mobile-office vehicle that digital nomads can use to travel, as well as work or simply relax.
The student car, however, has had one of its rear doors reworked, so its handle has been removed, and its window now features a sun blind so as to offer more privacy in the sleeping area.
The student car also measures close to 350mm taller than a standard Enyaq, thanks to a grown roof section, designed to give its users more space for working or relaxing. Aft of the front seats, this space can also convert into a one-person bedroom in a few steps.
Here, the apprentices at Mlada Boleslav were advised by Cargodesign and KPS Automobile, both of which also actively assisted with the construction of both the exterior and interior fittings of the student car.
For work, the interior features a special arm that serves as a place to attach a tablet. A 27-inch monitor, integrated docking station, espresso machine, camera and wireless keyboard, and a permanent high speed internet connection, also all feature in the vehicle's living and office area. And for general living, the Skoda Roadiaq comes with equipment including a wireless speaker, solar-powered shower, as well various kitchen equipment. The car also comes with its own survival kit, for the more adventurous travellers.
The complete upholstery for the seats, door trims, instrument panel and roof pillars of the car come from a company that has cooperated with the student car project for many years, and utilises fabrics made from recycled textiles. This mono-material concept ensures complete recyclability of the fabric at the end of the vehicle's lifecycle.
The rear section of the vehicle also houses a tent attachment that provides shelter in bad weather, enables comfortable use of the kitchen equipment.
