Skoda Singapore has announced that it will begin 2025 with the introduction of the new facelifted fourth-generation Octavia here, ushering in four variants and comprehensive upgrades.
While the Octavia Liftback remains a Category A COE car, this update has given it an enhanced 1.5-litre TSI mild hybrid engine - an upgrade from its predecessor's 1.0-litre engine - with an official fuel consumption rate of just 16.4km/L.
Its interior sports an upgraded 13-inch touchscreen display, and new assistance systems include Front Assist with braking reaction and Driver Alert for fatigue monitoring. Known for its luggage and storage capabilities, the Liftback doesn't disappoint with up to 1,555 litres of boot space, as well as various ergonomically designed compartments for mobile phones, umbrellas, and more.
The Octavia Selection Combi variant offers a spacious interior and cutting-edge assist systems, with exterior highlights including the aerodynamically sculpted wing mirrors, flat roof rails and tornado line, and crystal LED rear lights with animated indicators.
On the inside, minimalist lines and ambient lighting set the mood, with the two-part panoramic roof allowing the front half to tilt or slide backwards. In addition to the 1,700-litre boot, the Combi features an automatic retractable cover over the luggage compartment, moving in coordination with the tailgate.
The Octavia RS is powered by an improved 2.0-litre TSI engine generating 20bhp more than the outgoing model, sending 261bhp to the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG transmission.
This makes it the most powerful Octavia ever, completing the century sprint in 6.5 seconds and boasting a top speed of 250km/h. Exterior features include full Matrix LED headlights with LED daytime running lights; 19-inch 'Elias' anthracite alloy wheels and RS bumpers, and interior features include RS exclusive sports seats in Suedia upholstery and a Sports leather multifunction steering wheel.
Saving the best for last is the Octavia RS Combi, heralded by Skoda as "the best of both worlds". The variant features all the performance attributes of the Octavia RS Liftback, while offering the same functional benefits as the Octavia Selection Combi. These include added luggage space, a panoramic glass roof, and integrated roof rails.
The new Octavia models are now available to order and will also be on display at Skoda's Waterway Point roadshow, which runs from 6 January 2025 to 12 January 2025.
