Formed as part of a collaboration between SK Garage and Uber Garage, the SKUber Race Team made a strong start in its first-ever season of the Malaysian Touring Car Championship season.
At the Sepang International Circuit, the team's Singapore-built Volkswagen Golf GTI - piloted by Jonathan Xie in the Touring Production class - achieved podium finishes in all seven races, including a season-opening victory. Narrowly missing the championship title by just one point, the GTI secured second overall in class, further backed by a strong runners-up finish in the 300km endurance race.
In the Honda 1.5L VTEC category (M-Touring 2), the pairing of Xie and Mark Darwin, alongside Quek Kian Wee, achieved two wins and three podiums, finishing fifth overall out of 34 entries despite mechanical setbacks in the finale.
With the SKUber collaboration gaining recognition for bringing Singapore-built engineering to the regional motorsport scene, the SKUber Race Team is also offering enthusiasts the chance to explore opportunities via its Sim Racer to Real Race Driver Programme, creating a pathway from virtual racing to real-world competition.
