Smart #5 chosen as Norway's Car of the Year 2026

In its premiere year in Europe, the Smart #5 has been named as Norway's Car of the Year 2026, with all but one of the jury members ranking the model highest in their scoring.

This is just one of a host of accolades that the model has won this year, joining the Red Dot Product Design Award, the Red Dot Brand & Communication Design Award, and a five-star Euro NCAP rating.

The Smart #5's global rollout means that it will join the #1 and #3 in presenting the brand's premium electric lineup to an international audience

The Smart #5 is equipped with an advanced 800V platform and the latest gen AMD V2000 chipset at the heart of its digital ecosystem. Its steel-aluminium hybrid body balances performance and lightness, utilising high-strength steel and aluminium alloy to enhance rigidity and protection.

Having launched in 17 European markets and key regions like China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Morocco, the Smart #5 is quickly establishing its global presence. Its rollout is set to further accelerate in the first half of 2026, joining the compact #1 and sporty #3 to present Smart's premium electric lineup to a growing international audience.
