Suzuki Singapore teases arrival of Jimny 5-Door

It appears that the Suzuki family in Singapore might soon be growing bigger. 

A text message sent by Suzuki Singapore (and seen by Sgcarmart) has teased that the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door "is coming", with an invitation to sign up for launch updates via a registration link on the brand's website. "More doors, more space and more reasons to explore", continues the text. 

The iconic Jimny has thus far only been offered in three-door guise

When the Jimny 5-Door eventually arrives here, it should likely broaden the appeal of Suzuki's iconic little off-roader, which has thus far been offered only in three-door guise. 

Showcased on our shores last January at the 2024 Singapore Motor Show, this five-door variant boasts a longer wheelbase of 2,590mm (340mm than on the three-door variant), and of course, two extra doors that offer more practicality. 

While further details including pricing and specification have yet to be confirmed, it's worth noting that the Jimny 5-Door is produced in India by Maruti Suzuki, whereas the original three-door Jimny is produced directly in Japan. Closer to home, the Jimny 5-Door is already on sale in Malaysia, where it is offered with a 1.5-litre engine that puts out 101bhp.
