The Car Expo returns with whopping 36 brands

Returning for its second rodeo in 2025, The Car Expo has landed again at the Singapore EXPO (at Halls 4 and 5), bringing together arguably the most diverse gathering of brands we've seen yet. In fact, Sgcarmart counted 36 brands present this year.

Alongside them, greeting visitors are some rather enticing deals that are ostensibly aimed at softening the blow of recently skyrocketing COE premiums. Alternatively, a good selection of pre-owned cars stands at the ready for those not looking to buy brand-new.

Still, if you're simply in the mood to just get yourself up to date with what's been hitting the market lately, this weekend presents a good chance to do exactly that - especially with the sheer number of names making their public debuts here. 

New electric sedans galore: Making their public debuts are the IM5 Sedan and BYD Seal 6 EV

New faces, special previews, and fresh launches

Launching this week in Singapore is a pair of fraternal electric twins - the IM5 sedan and IM6 SUV - which mark the first models from IM Motors to reach our shores.

The premium electric brand is affiliated with Eurokars-distributed MG Motors, and has already opened orders for the cars, and is extending more than $11,000 in bonuses to buyers during this introductory period. 

The Seal 6 EV is currently retailing at just $179,888, inclusive of guaranteed COE

Likewise, Singapore's current bestselling brand, BYD, is taking the chance to let visitors come up close with the Seal 6 EV. Dubbed the brand's "most affordable EV sedan" yet, the Cat A model is retailing at just $179,888, inclusive of guaranteed COE. BYD is also promising other exclusive freebies and deals for all purchases made at its booth.

Premium Automobiles, which takes charge of Zeekr, XPENG, Deepal, and AVATR, also has a number of new faces to show off to buyers.

At the Zeekr booth, visitors will get a chance to see both the (already bestselling) Zeekr 7X SUV, the Zeekr 009 MPV, and the new 110kW variant of the Zeekr X in person.

Dubbed the Zeekr X Urban, the latter marks the first time that buyers can get the brand's compact electric SUV with a Cat A COE. The X Urban and 009 are also on offer with The Car Expo perks worth up to $46,000 and $50,000 respectively, both of which include a 10-year battery warranty, and more.

Fellow Premium Automobiles brand, XPENG, also has a new toy to show off to buyers. The XPENG G6 has been facelifted just one year after its launch here, and has now gone on sale in two new variants: In Standard RWD and Performance AWD guises.

Buyers can look forward to $19,000 in savings, a 10-year battery warranty, one year of free road taxi, and other The Car Expo perks over the weekend. These apply as well to the facelifted XPENG X9 (catch our review of the MPV here!).

The Deepal booth, on the other hand, has brought a special new member out for display: The incoming E07. Likely to appeal to those who like to stand apart with its pickup-like body style, the electric SUV should be available for purchase before 2025 ends.

And that's not where the special previews end. Leapmotor, which is being distributed by Cycle & Carriage, is showing off the C10. Sgcarmart understands that the mid-sized electric SUV should be available with a Cat A COE when launched.

Though not on sale yet, the car's stats are promising as things stand; it's got sizable presence at 4,739mm in length, and should prove quite spacious too with its 2,825mm wheelbase. It's also stuffed fully with active safety features, including its LEAP Pilot ADAS suit, baby-friendly silicone leather seats, and boasts a five-star Euro NCAP rating.

Dongfeng Motor is also teasing two cars set to arrive in its showroom soon: The 007 sedan, as well as the Vigo crossover. Meanwhile, Chery's Omoda has also brought out its mid-sized SUV, the OMODA 9, for display.

And it's not just the Chinese that have new toys to show off.

On the European front, Skoda has brought the all-new Elroq to the Singapore EXPO as well. The compact crossover, which clocks in under the Skoda Enyaq in both size and pricing, should well appeal to buyers who appreciate the Czech brand's 'Simply Clever' design ethos, yet prefer something smaller and more affordable.

And on more familiar Japanese territory, Suzuki is landing with both a car launch and a special preview. 

Showcased at the opening of its new flagship showroom three weeks back, the Jimny 5-Door has officially gone on sale, with prices starting from $214,999.

Alongside it, Suzuki is showing off the Fronx: A mild hybrid compact crossover that will likely sit between the Swift and the S-Cross in its lineup. Sgcarmart understands that the Suzuki Fronx is slated for launch before year-end, and will land with a Category A COE.

Bigger families, on the other hand, should delight in the public debut of the all-new Subaru Forester e-BOXER Hybrid. The SUV marks the first full hybrid model that we've seen from the brand in Singapore, and is being sold with rebates of up to $10,000, with buyers also standing to grab bonus vouchers of up to $600. 

Alternatively, they can opt for Honda's Stepwagon Hybrid, which was previously previewed, but is now being sold by authorised dealer Kah Motor.

Another relatively fresh name you might want to catch here includes a returning one from our neighbour: Proton. The Malaysian brand is selling its e.MAS 7 with a Founders Edition package (applicable to the first 99 units sold in Singapore), which promises to make cross-border electric road trips a lot more fuss-free.

Electrification among other younger names 

Other younger electric players from China are busting out their best deals this weekend as well.

Among these brands are Vincar EV's GAC Aion with the the gull-winged Hyptec HT, the Aion Y Plus, the bestselling Aion V, and the plug-in hybrid E9 MPV; JMEV with its Elight compact electric sedan; Ora with its cutesy Good Cat 03; and Maxus with the MIFA 9 and MIFA 7 electric MPVs. It's worth reiterating that the latter was reintroduced with a 'detuned' powertrain this year that allows it to be eligible for a Cat A COE. 

Those on the hunt for more premium electric transport, on the other hand, can turn to the DENZA D9 or AVATR 11

If you're on the hunt for more upmarket electric options, also taking a stand are BYD's DENZA with its DENZA D9 luxury MPV, and Changan Automobile's AVATR with the AVATR 11, a head-turning coupe-SUV.

Toyota Singapore has prepared a suite of enticing deals for buyers as part of BMS's centennial celebrations

Plenty to enjoy too for those seeking out the established players 

Buyers seeking out the more established names on the market also have plenty of options to shop from.

Synonymous with hybrid technology, Toyota is giving the spotlight to the facelifted Corolla Cross Hybrid and the all-new Noah Hybrid at its booth. 

As part of Borneo Motors Singapore's 100th anniversary celebrations, the Japanese carmaker is promising savings of up to $20,000, including the likes of a 10-year hybrid battery warranty, seven years worth of free servicing, two years worth of road tax, and more.

Other more familiar names here include the likes of MINI and Volvo

Nissan, too, is showing off its range of either fully or partially electrified models, with the promise of a free upgrade to guaranteed COE, a $2,000 finance rebate, and more. Instalments start from as low as $1,476 with the Note e-POWER. 

Other names to look out for here include Citroen, Cupra, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, MG, MINI, Peugeot, Volkswagen, and Volvo, all of which are extending Expo-specific deals to buyers.

Traditional stalwarts of the premium sector, including Audi and Lexus, have also made their presence felt here

Not forgetting our legacy premium makers

But if your buying appetite still lies with a marque whose luxury status transcends decades, you'll be glad to note that Singapore's biggest legacy premium brands are bringing out their best deals this weekend too.

BMW, whose booth includes mid-sized offerings like the X3 yet also Cat A-friendly options including the iX2, 1 Series hatchback and 2 Series Active Tourer, has prepared special interest rates for both its combustion-powered and electric models. Every purchase also entitles customers to a sure-win item from its 'Joy Vault'.

Meanwhile, Audi is showing off its latest models, including the facelifted A3 Sportback and Sedan, the handsome A5 Sedan, and the all-electric Q6 e-tron SUV. The German carmaker has laid out up to $55,000 in savings at this edition of The Car Expo for potential buyers. 

Lexus, too, is extending a suite of offers to buyers with 12 months worth of complimentary instalments, insurance subsidies, complimentary road, and complimentary petrol to buyers. Other rewards include a 10-year hybrid battery warranty, and a five-year unlimited mileage warranty. Additionally, the brand is showing off its new Lexus LBX Urbanite - a special edition of its sole Cat A model in Singapore crafted in celebration of Borneo Motors Singapore's 100th anniversary. 

New cars aside, The Car Expo also has a variety of pre-owned models for buyers to choose from

In case you haven't had the time head down to Expo yet today, fret not. As mentioned, The Car Expo is running across the entire weekend from 10:00am to 9:00pm daily - with free admission to boot too.

Other activities on the sidelines also promise to entertain those visiting, including a Pit Stop Challenge that puts your reflexes to the test: Be among the first 10 participants to stop the clock at exactly 10 seconds, and you stand to win $100 in cash vouchers. Furthermore, the first 1,000 visitors daily will also receive an exclusive The Car Expo multi-purpose storage bag.

Finally, The Car Expo's collaboration with SPC will also entitle shoppers who book a new or pre-owned car to up to $1,000 in SPC vouchers, as well as the first 30 daily shoppers who spend $80 on car accessories in a single receipt to a $10 SPC voucher.
