The Mercedes-AMG EQS53 4Matic+ is AMG's first series production all-electric car

Mercedes has unveiled the Mercedes-AMG EQS53, AMG's first series production all-electric model.
The front of the car is dominated by its standard Digital Light headlamps and characterised by its AMG-specific black panel grille. The grille houses hot-stamped vertical struts in chrome, and integrated Mercedes star, and 'AMG' lettering.
The car also gets its rear apron finished in the body colour, which houses an aerodynamically optimised diffuser with six longitudinal fins
It also gets a larger rear spoiler (compared to AMG Line) to improve driving dynamics. 21 or 22-inch AMG light-alloy wheels will be available in Mercedes-AMG's Aero or Heritage design, all aerodynamically optimised.
The AMG EQS53 utilises one motor at each axle to deliver that fully-variable AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive, which optimally transmits the drive power to the asphalt in all driving conditions.
The basic version will offer a maximum total output of 649bhp, with a maximum motor torque of 950Nm. With the optional AMG Dynamic Plus Package however, the maximum output increases to up to 751bhp in Race Start mode with boost function. The maximum motor torque is then up to 1,020Nm.
This will allow the Mercedes-AMG EQS53 4Matic+ to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with a battery charge level of at least 80%. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h with the optional package.
In the basic version meanwhile, the AMG EQS will accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds (with a minimum 80% battery charge). Its maximum speed is limited to 220 km/h.
The car utilises AMG-specific electric motors with new windings, stronger currents and new actuation via inverters with specially developed software. This allows for higher rotational speeds and thus more power.
And while you're pushing the AMG EQS, special loudspeakers, shakers and a sound generator will create a special sound experience.
A 400V battery with a usable energy content of 107kWh features AMG‑specific wiring, specially adapted for high-performance use. Maximum range on the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure cycle is 580km.
A maximum charging speed of 200kW via direct current will allow a 300km top up in just 19 minutes. Charging via alternating current meanwhile, is capped at 22kW.
Like the EQS from Mercedes-EQ, the suspension of the new Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ features a four‑link axle at the front and a multi-link axle at the rear. However, AMG engineers have specifically improved the components and configured them to meet the special requirements of AMG customers.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS53 4Matic+ is equipped with the innovative MBUX Hyperscreen as standard.
Rear-axle steering will also come as standard for the Mercedes-AMG EQS53. It will offer a steering angle of up to nine degrees, greatly enhances the agile handling of the large saloon. The turning radius of the car is also reduced to that of a compact sedan.
