Toyota Gazoo Racing headed to Tokyo Auto Salon 2025

Toyota has announced that its motorsport division, Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR), will make a return to Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS) 2025 - and with none other than Toyota Motor Corporation's Chairman, Akio Toyoda, set to grace the opening press conference. When racing for the TGR team, Toyoda also goes by the name of 'Morizo'.
Joining this year's auto show under the general theme of 'Car-making at Nurburgring', TGR's booths at TAS will feature vehicles related to its motorsports activities around the Nurburgring.
Currently slated for display at TGR's booth are the Toyota Altezza #109, which was used by the team at the Nurburging 24-Hours endurance race in 2007, and also the Toyota Supra (NUR training car) which served as Morizo's pre-race training car
The legendary circuit in in Western Germany has been repeatedly honoured as one of the starting points of TGR - as well as the birth of Morizo, who competed in the Nurburgring 24-Hours endurance race alongside then-Toyota Master Driver, Hiromu Narise, in 2007.
In tandem, the cars currently slated for display at TGR's booth include the Toyota Altezza #109, which was used by the team in 2007, and also the Toyota Supra (NUR training car), which served as Morizo's training vehicle at the circuit prior to the race. TGR also states that the exhibition is aimed at reiterating its philosophy of "making ever-better motorsports-bred cars".
Vehicle displays aside, TGR is also teasing talk sessions under the them of "Challenging the Nurburgring", which will give participants the chance to hear firsthand from Morizo and other active TGR driver and engineers about their experiences in the field, as well as their takes on the past and future of motorsport.
Visitors will also get to enjoy outdoor demo runs performed by members of the TGR World Rally Team, using TGR rally cars and an as-yet undisclosed concept vehicle model.
Finally, for those with the palate for something non-Nurburgring-related, TGR will also include a 'LAND CRUISER BASE' display at its booth, which is will promote the "fun of customising the Toyota Land Cruiser". Alongside this, the presence of Daihatsu Motor promises to make its showing at the event even more diversified.
