Toyota GR Corolla features in finale to video series
15 Jun 2023|1,600 views
The Toyota Gazoo Racing trio is returning to make a blockbuster statement, complete with plenty of redlines, handbrake pulls, and downshifts, in the third and final installment to Toyota's The Pitch series (watch the second episode of the series, titled The Focus Group, here).
In this latest episode, titled The Shoot, viewers rejoin the 'creatives', who finally get their shot at making a commercial, all while trying to answer the never-ending concerns of the cautious 'executives'. The episode nonetheless sees the cars ripping through a one-horse Western town, partaking in a helicopter pursuit down a snowy mountain road, and engaging in an escape from a roadside trap.
Unlike The Focus Group, wherein the GR Supra was the hero car, in The Shoot, the GR Corolla now takes a leading role. With TGR-NA Drivers Frederic Aasbo and Ken Gushi behind the wheel alongside Ryan Tuerck and other supporting stunt drivers, the Toyota GR Corolla shows off its all-wheel drive system with the help of the 'creatives' while the 'executives' continue to give notes.
The episode even pulls in a reference to an old Corolla commercial from Australia, as Tuerck plays a role where he sets a cunning roadside trap. The episode then ends with a call for "more GR!", finishing with all models heading to the streets for a series of stunts.
