Toyota has performed a great act of philanthropy by donating $1 million in donations to assist with the catastrophic flooding in Eastern Kentucky, U.S.A. The company has even included its employees to rally support for immediate needs through donation drives.
The company will be donating $700,000 to the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky - Flood Relief Fund to help support families throughout eastern Kentucky who are struggling for access to shelter, food, water and other basic needs. Toyota's disaster resilience partner, St. Bernard Project (SBP), will also receive monetary support to help guide survivors as they navigate the federal funding application and appeals processes.
The Japanese automobile giant will also provide double-matching contributions for all donations made by U.S.A based employees and dealer partners to support The Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, SBP and The American Red Cross.
Customers who live in the area who are impacted by the floods will also be receiving payment relief from Toyota Financial Services. This includes any Toyota Financial Services and Lexus Financial Services customer in the disaster areas.
