Mazda has revealed an updated MX-5 at the Japan Mobility Show.
On the outside, the car gets redesigned LED head lights that now incorporate the daytime running lights, while at the rear, the LED taillights have also been redesigned.
Those with keen eyes will also have spotted the addition of new sensors within the front grille of the roadster. These facilitate the addition of new safety features including Lane-Keep Assistance and Intelligent Speed Assistance. Mazda states the car's Traffic Sign Recognition system has also been improved.
In the cabin, the MX-5 has gained the firm's 8.8-inch touchscreen multimedia display and an updated instrument panel. The former is said to make navigation easier, while the introduction of USB-C ports in the cabin will also improve its practicality. The cabin of the Mazda MX-5 also now gets a frameless rear-view mirror.

On the handling front, the 2.0-litre variant of the roadster now gets a new Asymmetric Limited Slip Differential, said to better limit the amount of slip on the car's unloaded rear wheel during cornering for enhanced stability when tackling corners at speed.
Also new for this MX-5 is an adjusted steering rack, which now produces less friction to deliver a more natural and fluid response. A new track driving mode is also now offered, that will avoid intervention until certain parameters are exceeded. This new drive mode is intended to give first-time track drivers a more dynamic yet secure experience.
The Mazda MX-5 will reach the U.K. with two naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G petrol engines. The first is a 1.5 litre unit that delivers 130bhp. A 2.0-litre unit that delivers 181bhp will also be offered. Mazda further states that these engines have had their throttle response tweaked to offer greater accuracy.
