Volkswagen has confirmed that the new Amarok pickup is set to get a vertical infotainment screen in its latest teaser image.
Volkswagen states the new screen layout has been chosen as it offers a better overview and access to the screen's extensive control options. The display unit, offered in sizes of 10 to 12-inches, has been designed so it appears to levitate above the dashboard, and will be paired with a variety of ergonomically optimally configured buttons and/or push/rotary switches for intuitive use.
The infotainment screen will provide customers of the Amarok access to a variety of mobile online services, as well as the option to configure up to 30 driver assistance systems, more than 20 of which are said to be appearing on the Amarok for the first time. These include lane-keeping and lane-changing assistants, lighting and speed assistants, as well as surrounding area view and road sign recognition.
