Volkswagen Beetle Dune arrives in Singapore

The car's off-road design, raised body and 18-inch wheels give it a crossover look in a distinctive Volkswagen style. This exclusive concept of the Beetle Dune continues the tradition of the Beetle lifestyle models that started nearly 80 years ago.
In the period of the 1960s, the legendary dune buggies catered for a never-ending summer feeling the world over. They were a Californian invention, which became a trend in Europe as well.
For Volkswagen, the Beetle Dune pays tribute to the pleasure of driving - the car features powerfully proportioned styling accents on the body and wide tyres in homage to the dune buggy style. The Beetle Dune is its own independent line within the model series.
It is possible to recognise the crossover model in fractions of a second by its increased ground clearance (with an off-road suspension system), a wider track, distinctive bumpers with diffusers at the front and rear end, black wheel arch and sill extensions, stylised side sills, and the 'Dune' signature on the side profile.
The Beetle Dune is truly a crossover for the modern era: front-wheel drive and efficient, and as robust as the dune buggy once was.
The Beetle Dune is a well-appointed car with bi-xenon head lights, LED daytime running lights, sports seats with special fabric seat covers, and a panoramic sunroof.
At launch, the Beetle Dune is available with a 1.4-litre turbocharged TSI engine, which makes 148bhp and 250Nm of torque, allowing the Beetle Dune to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 8.8 seconds.
In the coming weeks, Volkswagen will also offer the Beetle Dune with a 1.2-litre turbocharged TSI engine with 104bhp of power and 175Nm of torque. Both cars have a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox as standard.
The Beetle Dune is available at $127,900 with COE (valid until 4th July 2018).
