The new CC features a new chrome grille, redesigned headlamps with LED daytime running lights and a different bumper, while the rear end also gains LED tail lamps and new boot and bumper designs. The cabin, meanwhile, gets new climate controls and trim options and stainless steel door sills. The CC also has seating for five, with a three-seat rear bench taking the place of two individual bucket seats.
The engine line-up remains the same from the outgoing Passat CC, which means that a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 200bhp, and a 3.6-litre naturally-aspirated V6 with 280bhp are available, with both engines featuring direct injection.
The new CC adds new driver assistance systems, such as the Side Assist Plus with Lane Assist that warns drivers of vehicles in the car’s blind spots and, if necessary, makes the required direction changes to avoid an accident. The car can also be had with Dynamic Light Assist and a traffic sign detection system.

The CC is a facelift of the Passat CC four-door coupe, but Volkswagen has decided to drop the Passat name in order to further differentiate the two models, and move the CC upmarket, to a different segment from the Passat sedan. The updated CC will be launched in Germany first in February and subsequently in the rest of Europe in the following months ahead.
