Volkswagen mulls over production of mini-CC coupe

The new model – which will wear the SC nameplate (for Sport Coupe) – is currently being developed as an addition to the Jetta lineup. Volkswagen had originally toyed with a two-door version of the Jetta, but decided that a sleek four-door would better fit with market demands.
Set to be based on VW’s latest MQB architecture, the new model will feature a steeply raked windshield as well as more rounded rear-end than the standard Jetta. A notchback body style will most likely make it for production, which should ensure the SC offers decent cargo room to go along with its sportier styling.
If all goes according to plan, we should see the new Volkswagen SC on the market in 2014 as a 2015 model.
Volkswagen is reportedly looking to add a smaller four-door coupe variant to its CC range to expand their market and further sales.
