Volkswagen has revealed the updated Touareg SUV.
Up front, the car now sports a redesigned grille. This grille will come complete with chrome horizontal elements on the 'Elegance' and 'R-Line' trims, although a Black Style Package for the 'R-Line' car is also available to finish these elements in gloss black. This grille also now sports an illuminated centre horizontal strip that extends from both sides of the Volkswagen logo.
The changes to the front are rounded off with a new apron, complete with enlarged intakes at either side for an added touch of visual aggression.
And at the rear, the Touareg has now gained a full-width light bar, while the Volkswagen logo here is now illuminated in red.
The Touareg also now gets the firm's IQ.Light HD LED matrix head lights. These lights make use of up to 19,216 micro LEDs each, and now cast a triple L-shaped daytime running light signature - a pattern that is repeated for the taillights.
In the cabin of the Touareg, the firm's Innovision Cockpit, which combines a 12-inch instrument and 15-inch infotainment digital display, now comes as standard (this system was an optional extra internationally). The system has been updated with new high-resolution HD map data.
New USB-C connections also feature in the cabin of the Volkswagen Touareg. These offer a charging capacity of 45W, allowing fast charging of electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets or laptops.
Petrol-powered versions of the new Touareg available from launch include a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6, delivering 335bhp.
Two plug-in hybrid options are also offered, delivering 375bhp in the Touareg eHybrid and 455bhp in the Touareg R eHybrid. All engines come paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission as well as the firm's 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
