Premium Crossover of the Year
Lexus LBX Hybrid
The LBX is Lexus’ smallest crossover, and it is also the first car from the brand to be sold in Singapore with a Cat A COE. It might be small, but the LBX looks exceptionally stylish. Up front is a frameless, trapezoid-patterned grille that appears to fade into its bonnet. Inside, the large displays are sharp and vibrant, with smartphone connectivity.

With a Cat A-topping 129bhp from the 1.5-litre engine, the LBX offers a surprisingly peppy and playful drive.

Was looking for an upgrade of my previous Korean crossover and chanced upon Lexus LBX.It is a premium piece despite being built on a Toyota Yaris platform. Although there are some minor aesthetic flaws upon vehicle collection, the experience to purchasing the vehicle is a good one and I do hope to keep this car till its end of life. What I like:- premium feel in cabin- looks aggressive yet classy- fuel economy - digital dashboard with many settings- pretty rims- seats are decent - Good service by lexus What I dislike:- little underpowered with cvt droning with flooring but if you don't drive decently it's smooth and quiet- rear seats are small- obu 2.0 unit needs to be placed in centre due to space

I've previously driven the UX250H for 5 years and took the opportunity to change to the LBX since it just launch in 2024. I saw the auto parking feature and how seamless it looks on the new car and it was very impressive. Would highly recommend! I enjoy the 360 camera so far and will continue to enjoy this feature on my new LBX cool. Thanks Tabi (91502506) from Lexus in assisting me with the change!Auto parking feature, blind spot monitoring, heads-up display, full radar cruise control, clearer 360 camera and not forgetting the Mark Levinson available

Went by showroom to see the LBX since after MotorShow 2024.First looks, its a compact SUV of 5 seaters comes with new exterior design. Comes in 2 variant, Elegant and Cool of a small top up option. Between the 2 variants, COOL comes with HUD and some other more features which the top up amount is certainly worth it.Interior, a nice flushed in design, compared to the other models of a large screen (though also partially flushed in but jutted out), at least the speedometer is built in like VW and Skoda virtual cockpit than BMW and Mercedes panaromic glass screen standing.Consistency among all models, it comes with electric seats, electric steering controls, auto hold, electric tailgate,It will be great if there is a sun or moon roof option.Comes with the usual gadgets BUT their safety features are the same across all Lexus models, like the mentioned below...Which is a good consistency that other makes should follow suit.Pre-Collision SystemRoad Sign AssistRear Crossing Traffic AlertParking Support BrakeLane Departure AlertBlind Sport AlertSafe Exit AssistPark Assist SensorI must say the SAFE EXIT ASSIST is a good to have, when you parked and off engine, wanting to exit your vehicle, should there be any incoming object or person, this will alert you. Also, their new door handle uses double push in than the conventional lever pull out which has been around for decades, a certainly good design too.Driving off is a pleasure as its a small SUV, compared to its larger siblings from NX onwards.A new way of gear shift, propritary to Lexus as tried, is a new way to get used to it along the way shoud you own any of Lexus series. On the roads, tend to be a little noisy, due to its a 3 cylinder engine and when revved high to overtake, its even noisier and kind of draggy to a certain extent, same in SPORTS mode.Hybrid uses both petrol and battery to power this car is good for long drives and unlike with turbo, its not for dashing use.Handling is a breeze as its a compact SUV than its other siblings.Parking is simple as comes with full body sensors with the guards of parking brake assist, making it so easy to use this feature and park.Overall, its a nimble compact SUV to have for its many safety features without any shortage despite a smaller model.

Lexus LBX is the most practical and comfortable car i ever owned. Size good for me and my wife as the cabin is comfortable and a bit roomy as compared to the brands in the same segment. My first hybrid car that gives convenience to drive around and economical fuel consumption. The Mark Levinson sound system works Ok and can be set to individual liking.Overall a very stylish design car in and out, with a lot features on it.
Verdict
How does Lexus smallest crossover fare? Pretty well if you ask us! While you'll typically associate a brand such as Lexus with larger luxurious cars, the LBX has encapsulated the essence of the brand very well.

The Lexus LBX has been conceived to target a younger buyer demographic, which explains its compact and easy-to-drive package. It takes a step away visually from the other crossovers and SUVs within the family to offer an invigorating and stylish design that, while different, is still recognisably Lexus-like.

Head inside and the undeniable Lexus charms hit you like a cool sea breeze - a sporty and elegant suede-like material covers most of the surfaces in the cabin, including the door cards, dashboard, centre console and the seats. Taking centrestage on the dashboard is a 9.8-inch central infotainment touchscreen - while smaller than what you'll typically find in Lexus cars, it is substantial within this compact crossover to offer a luxe experience.

Head to the back and there's a 400-litre boot, which is rather impressive for a car of this segment. The LBX isn't just stylish and elegant, it's plenty practical as well.

Equipped with a Cat A-topping 129bhp from its hybrid powertrain, the LBX is light on its feet, offering instantaneous torque and a silent drive from right off the line. Equipped with suspension that is on the stiffer side, along with its short wheelbase, the LBX is a peppy and playful crossover that makes for a fun drive.

Efficiency, style, elegance, practicality and a playful nature - the LBX has plenty going for it. No wonder it is so popular among drivers here.
