Traded in my GLB for the brand new Hybrid 2026 with the updated steering wheel design. My first Hybrid as well, previously always driven ICE cars. Was advised by SA that the average range was about 900-1000KM, honestly I was a bit skeptical about this claim but so far, i'm clocking really almost 1000KM for every refuel. I collected the car in early Sept and have clocked 4k km as of today. Highest RPM reach is 4K, and fastest at 135Km/h (malaysia drive). Comparing with my previous ride (GLB 2021 model), the comfort quality of the sorento is better but corner handling is not as tight as GLB, with body rolling quite badly. Sound insulation is average, driving at 100+ and above you can hear the wind noise and tyre noise quite loudly. Engine noise during rev is not as bad as GLB. Cutoff from engine to electric is quite bad, with a loud thud sound, something which I will feedback during my next servicing. Driving along the highway at 120kmh with strong wind is quite dangerous as the car feels light and floaty, compared to GLB which is solid and doesn't sway easily. Sorento comes with rear aircon at cargo/luggage area, which I appreciate this because sometimes i put cakes/groceries at the back of my boot space and a little aircon really helps.One thing which really annoys me is the start/stop button, which is a filmsy loose piece of plastic. Dont understand why can't they make this basic component solid since its going to be pressed everytime we start and stop the car. I wonder how long can this plastic last..

We wanted more space for the family and knew that our next car will have to be a 3 row SUV. Started looking at the various models and finally narrowed down to 3 models. Went to the show rooms, test drove the 3 models and it was a clear cut choice - Kia Sorento. This car ticked all the boxes in our checklist - design, space, ease of getting in and out of the third row, 2nd and 3rd row air vents, large panoramic roof, features, and of course how it drives. Kia has come a long way comparing when they first came into our local market.Having driven the car for 3 weeks now, the family is still excited getting into the car. Power is readily available when I need it, taking into consideration it's only a 1.6l turbo hybrid powering nearly 2 tons.
