This morning I had difficulty starting my brother-in-law's car and so I did a Goggle search and came across Guan Lee Tyre & Co. I spoke to Mr Tay and he was very helpful and he even loaned me his jumper cable so that I can jump start my brother-in-law's car. He doesn't know me at all and yet trusted me. I returned to his shop with the car (and jumper cable) and he provided EXCELLENT service. He was very humble and kind. His price was also the BEST! I will surely recommend Mr Tay as he in my opinion is the best !!

Shop is simple, clean, no-frills but complete with all the necessary equipment.

Mr Tay, who helped me gave me a reasonable quote for my "Not-so-popular" Tyre specs, is very friendly, accommodating and on the ball.

Definitely an expert in this line and will be back to replace the remaining two tyres when their "Time is up"!

I replaced my car battery on my previous car with Mr Tay early 2014. When asked if I needed to change tyres, he said never mind, use till end 2014. However, I changed car around that time to a new car and couldn't use his services.

Yesterday (10.09.2015), my battery went flat and my car couldn't start. As I was on reservist, immediately hailed a cab to camp. In camp, made a few calls to those mobile battery replacement services and they were charging quite a fee for their labour. Mr Tay's batteries are one of the cheapest or if not, the cheapest! So I decided to activate my friends to jumpstart my car.

I sms-ed Mr Tay politely, provided him a picture of my previous car in his previous workshop and he confirmed he'll open the workshop specially for me on Polling Day!

Service was as usual, very personal and friendly. His configuration in his new workshop at Kaki Bukit is the same as at Eunos. The table, the tyre balancing machine are in the same layout.

I am sure Mr Tay has earned a few customers-for-life and I am now one of them. Thank you Mr Tay! See you soon!

With so many Tyre shops around where profit is their biggest agenda nowadays, you don't expect to see service provided so professionally with such a big smile. Also, his pricing is highly competitive. As long as he still runs this shop, Mr Tay definitely has my support. Old time shops like this are not easy to find nowadays.

Mr Tay who is the boss of Guan Lee is a rare gem in Singapore. The way he does business is not often seen.

In christmas 2013, my car battery died on me, as it was christmas no other shop was open for business. I decided to try my luck by texting Mr Tay to see if he can help. Without hesitation, Mr Tay told me to meet him at his workshop for a battery change.

I called my friend up to give me a jumpstart and proceed over to Guan Lee. Mr Tay specially open his workshop just to replace my battery. I found out that Mr Tay actually stay quite a distance away from his workshop, his dedication to his customers is unrivalled.

Service aside, his prices are very competitive and he is one of the few workshops that uses the correct method in replacing the car battery (by connecting up to another spare battery through the cig port)

I am a customer for life.

I changed my car battery amaron at Guan Lee tyre on 05/Oct after reading the good review at this website . I called him before going to the workshop. As expected, Mr Tay attended to me..he is friendly and provide good + swift service. I have a pleasant buying experience there.

Went there this afternoon to change 2 tyres to Dunlop. Friendly service, reasonable price (cheaper than when I changed the first 2 tyres at another shop at Lavender) and very thorough job. Highly recommended. Will return for battery and tyre change in future.

Just changed to a new Amaron battery. Good service (using backup battery) by the boss himself, Mr Tay. Good price (as quoted on the phone), I called a few shops to compare prices. Workshop is very neat. Since I benefited from the comments here, I thought I'll share mine.

I just Changed ,my rubbers at Guan Lee.

Called to check on the price for Kumho rubbers, the boss Mr Tay was friendly and not pushy over the phone. He gave me the Cheapest price compared to others. So i went down to change my rubbers.

He was again very friendly when we arrived. He even took some stools out to let us take a seat when he work on my ride. The way he carried out the service was very professional. eg, he would place a cloth over my rims when taking out the tyers to prevent damage. He carried out all the services by himself not like some other workshop where the boss does the saying and the workers do the job.

When asked to check my batt... .he said no need to change for now... coz its still gd. (according to the gauge he tested the batt) not pushy at all to sell me his new batt...

to me thats professional advice.

The boss, Mr Tay is a very humble person and he knows his stuff on tyres & batteries. My father knew his father and he took over from his father's business formerly at Upp Serangoon RdLlowland Rd. I have been changing many batteries and many sets of tyres since i owned cars back in 1990.My last set of tyres changed from him was last month: I used Goodyear as recommend by him. Prices are reasonable.

Changed my existing 45AH Korean Global battery to Amaron battery here. The boss was friendly and experience. He connected a spare battery to my car 12v plug before swapping with a new battery. Unlike many workshops, they will just ask u to start the car engine while they swap the battery. In addtion, he provided the most value price of all the shops that I had ask for a quote. Will re-visit the workshop again when changing a set of tyres new tyres.
