I remove my flat battery from my car and brought to this shop for charging, they bill me $30.00. WTF.

Dishonest and opportunistic.
My car battery died across the road at the esso station. So I went over to ask him to check n get a replacement. He charged me $220 for a battery with the ZAP brand. Then told me my alternator was not running n recommended me to his son's shop at old toh guan

I was really late for appt n I questioned him if battery was really so expensive as I recalled my previous replacement being btw $120 to $150. He assured me this was a reputable European brand which costs more n is v durable.

To my surprise later on in called the main distributor of the battery n they quoted my model at $100.

I was in the area 2 days later n spoke nicely to the uncle and he admitted overcharging me n returned me $50. So I had paid a whopping 70% Above market rate for a battery that my regular workshops told me they stopped selling as they were "Problematic".

It turned out the battery was not even the problem. My alternator wire had been burnt to a crisp on the inside so it was not charging my battery. I recall the old uncle was supposed to check the alternator first but he just replaced the battery n told me my alternator needed to be replaced without even checking. In the end it only costs me $20 to rewire the damaged section.

Sorry for the long rant but this has been pretty much one of the worst experiences I have had with a workshop.

I believe the positive reviews given in this section for lian kiat to be somewhat doctored/planted

The service was reasonable however, the price was high. Puncture repair has never cost so much before. $30 for a puncture repair! A equivalent new tire would cost only $120. It was my fault not to inquire about the repair price first. Would advice to source for another shop if possible.

Wanted to just have my tyres checked as I suspected it was leaking. The guy just looked at my tyre and claimed that I needed to change a brand new one. Tried to hard sell me even I'm on less then 6 months old tyres and charged me $25.00 for a puncture repair!!

Good experience dealing with them. Not only on the good tyre offer, they are friendly and patient in explaining details. Thumbs up!

They give free rotation for after sales services. I am sure to come here again!

Called up to ask for tires recommendations of my budget.
Friendly staff patiently assisted me with introductions even though it was nearing to their closing hour.
Checked with prices of GT tires from other shops as well, truly their price is lower than what other shops quoted.
Finally dropped by last week to get my 2 years old tires changed. Their worker served me promptly and even chatted with me over tires. Taught me some basic knowledge of tires.
They carry rims too, good thing is they were not hard sell. Even advised me not to change since my rims still looked new.
Free tire rotation was even thrown in free since I changed 4 tires.

Only cons is though the shop can be easily spotted by the road side opp mrt depot but I had a hard time trying to turn into the building.

Overall experience, good! My first visit but definitely not my last visit here. Will be back to change new set of rims soon.

It seems only ONE mechanic who seems to do the job properly. Even my side skirting was damaged due to the workers being inexperienced and even worse, one worker forced to jack my car up even though his jack is already cracking my sideskirt.

Can't be 100% attentive as I had my toddler to attend to while they are changing the tyres. Never even give me the complimentary parking ticket and was charged for the parking.

In the end, after reaching home then realised the damage. By then it's too late. With the inexperienced way they run their business, although the customer rapport is good, i'm afraid they can't stay long in this business
