Your check light was on when you came in for servicing. The head mech then ran an onboard diagnostics check for you. The diagnostic check showed timing issues. He mentioned that this diagnostic fault code points to timing gear issues, and an estimated cost IF, AND ONLY IF in the event a timing gear has to be changed. He also emphasized that timing gear may not be the case at all as your vehicle has only ran a low mileage. Head mech then advised that he will need time to thoroughly check your vehicle to identify what the issue may be, and what requires change/repair work before he can provide you with an accurate quotation. You then told the mech you will consider your options and will be in touch with him the following day, and you left. All in all, the head mech recalled having a pleasant discussion with you.

While the mech took time and effort to run the diagnostics and discussed the problem with you, he did not charge a single cent.

Conclusion:
- Free onboard diagnostic check and discussion;
- No parts were changed/repaired;
- No final cost was quoted to you

Hence your negative review really baffled us.

We have also reviewed your past experiences with us and nothing was deemed to be high cost. The same mech you mentioned always offered to rotate and balance your tyres free of charge each time you came in for servicing.

CLH has been in this trade for more than 30 years, and we pride ourselves on good customer service, price transparency, and most importantly, integrity. Based on the above, your comment does not seem fair at all. Please do not denigrate our company and our people.

We do not make the number plates ourselves. We gave you the direct address for our number plate supplier but you did not want to go as you said you didn’t know the place well. As such we provided the service to order the carplate in for you. We have also told you over the phone that it will take a few hours.

Upon our request to expedite the carplate making process (as we did not want to keep you waiting), the supplier came with newly made carplate in approx 2-3 hours (normally it would have taken 5-6 hours).

What we do not understand is how noise could have affected your ability to inspect and do a quality check on the carplate. From what we recalled, carplate was in good condition.

Nevertheless, do come back to us so that we can sort this out for you FOC. We would have done so even without this negative review.
