Good to know that there is a shop that recon alternator. My van have this screeching sound whenever I accelerate my engine. The harder i accelerate, they louder it is. And the price he quote me is very transparent, So I go ahead with the repair, the staff dismantle my alternator did the recon work, and plug back in. But unfortunately, the screeching still persist. We suspect it is the water pump. But they used a car-use stethoscope to check the problem of the sound. This helps to save me some times as they no need to test parts by parts. They found out it is the idler pulley bearing is worn off. They ordered the parts and help me with the installation.
