All New Hino 300 Series Light Duty Truck launched

Hino Singapore has announced the launch of its all new Hino 300 Series Light Duty Truck. Collaborating with Toyota Singapore under Borneo Motors (Singapore) Pte Ltd, the Japanese marque will be applying the likes of its huge machinery to the local market. Known to be one of the best in countries such as Australia and Thailand, Hino’s General Manager Shuichi Kaneko said that it was a good time for the truck to be launched as the market traffic in Singapore is getting increasingly similar to Japan’s. By the looks of its steady expansion and adaptation of international design standards, the Hino 300 Series Light Duty Truck is establishing itself as the global benchmark that places it at the leading edge of truck development.

Best targeted for the ‘rough and tough’ workers of Singapore, the Hino 300 Series Light Duty Truck now comes with an improved interior that allows these workers to drive in comfort all-day long. It has larger door openings and footsteps that can accommodate a diverse range of physiques and enhance accessibility while the tilt and telescopic steering wheel and increased seat slide range ensure a comfortable driving experience for the drivers.

More importantly, considering how dangerous and taxing it can be for workers to drive over long hours on our back-to-back roads, the all new truck sports a first in the industry feature that is bound to help drivers in times of fatigue. The thickness of its front pillars measures at a mere 65mm, giving drivers an extremely wide view and providing an excellent forward visibility without compromising structural integrity.

Apart from the improved windshield design and elevation upfront that gives the 300 Series an aerodynamic shape, complimenting the drivetrain is its engine. Equipped with the latest Euro 4 compliant N- series engine – a 4 cylinder, 4L powerhorse with Variable Nozzle Turbocharger (VNT) that delivers 148 horses at 2,500rpm and 420Nm of torque at 1,400rpm - piloting the mean industrial machine will be a breeze.

Despite facing very strong competitors such as Isuzu, Nissan and Mitsubishi, Hino is confident of selling 100 units by the end of 2012 and dominating at least 50% of the market segment in its class. Representing Hino in Singapore from Borneo Motors, Senior Manager Ong Poh Seng said that the collaboration with a very reliable marque such as Toyota will only strengthen Hino’s positioning as a trustworthy and durable brand.
