Ever sat in a Bentley Bentayga and found yourself wanting for luxury and wellness? Neither have we.
Yet, here we are, looking at this new Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase, a model that Bentley states, will offer customers the best rear cabin experience since the Mulsanne, whilst retaining the Bentley hallmarks of effortless performance, exquisite handcraftsmanship and endless personalisation.
4.0-litre 542bhp V8 will see the Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase accelerating to 100km/h from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds
In order to achieve this tall task, the Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase has had its, well, wheelbase extended over the regular Bentayga by 180mm. This change has brought the total length of the Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase to a new total of 5,322mm, easily beating, for example, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS's 5,205mm total length.
And this extension has gone entirely to the benefit of the rear passengers, but in spite of this, Bentley's design team have ensured the lines and proportions continue to exude style and presence, thanks to extensive changes to the car's underfloor, side panels, door and roof.
That means you'll have to identify the new extended wheelbase model from its lesser variant from the new Vertical Vane Grille, which takes inspiration from the one present in the Flying Spur.
And if you're looking at the car from the flank, the new 22-inch 10-spoke rims, featuring a new mirror-polished design for the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase, will be what to look out for.
The Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase also gets a new grille that consists of bright chrome vertical vanes that sit in front of a black mesh
Into the business end of the Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase, the car gets several upgrades designed to raise the wellness levels of occupants.
To start, there's now a new Bentley Airline Seat specification, equipped with 22-ways of adjustment and a world-first auto climate sensing system and postural adjustment technology.
Set these seats into their 'Relax' mode, and they can recline to 40 degrees, whilst the passenger seat is motored forwards and a beautifully leather-trimmed footrest deploys from the back of the front passenger seat.
An alternate 'Business' mode is also offered, which moves the seats into their most upright position to make working on the move more comfortable.
The auto climate seat technology meanwhile, is able to sense occupant temperature and surface humidity, and then automatically applies the necessary heat, ventilation, or even both simultaneously to keep the occupant at optimum thermal wellbeing.

Then there's also a postural adjustment system, which automatically makes micro adjustments to the occupant's seating position and pressure points, by measuring pressure across the seat surface.
The system can apply 177 individual pressure changes across six fully independent pressure zones over a three-hour period improving comfort and minimising fatigue throughout a journey.
The Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase will be offered with a 4+1 seating configuration as standard, delivering two outer rear seats that offer outstanding comfort, along with an occasional middle seat, that can easily accommodate a third adult.
There's also a four-seat configuration available, for those that would rather have a rear centre console between the two rear seats for additional stowage. But of course, most will opt for this specification in order to have the Mulliner Console Bottle Cooler, which housing a fully integrated drinks cooler for a 750ml bottle, and two handcrafted Cumbria Crystal Flutes. A five-seat configuration is also available for those that want the ability to fold down the rear backrests.
Powered closing doors are also being offered on this Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase, for those looking for a truly valet-like experience.
And to aid ease of driving, the Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase also comes with an all-wheel steer system, said to the vehicle's turning circle so much that it is 7% smaller than that of the standard wheelbase Bentayga.
The Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is powered by 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 that develops 542bhp and 770Nm of torque, allowing it to dispatch the zero to 100km/h sprint in just 4.6 seconds.
