At the 2025 Brussels Motor Show, which ran from 10 January 2025 to 19 January 2025, Mazda has revealed its new BEV for the European market, the Mazda6e, which will go on sale in left-hand drive European markets this year before arriving in U.K. dealers in the first half of 2026.
As an all-new, mid-sized EV, the Mazda6e is a fresh take on the ICE-powered Mazda 6. Available with two powertrain options, the car is offered with a choice of a 68.8kWh battery or an 80kWh battery. The former offers a range of up to 483km with an output of 254bhp, a century sprint timing of 7.6 seconds, and can go from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes with 200kW DC charging. The latter offers a range of up to 555km with an output of 241bhp, a century sprint timing of 7.8 seconds, and can go from 10% to 80% in 45 minutes with 200kW DC charging. Additionally, both variants produce 320Nm of torque with a RWD layout.
Designed under the 'Electrifying Design Crafted to Perfection' concept, the Mazda6e introduces the next evolution of the brand’s 'Kodo Soul of Motion' design philosophy. Standout design details include frameless doors, a bold lighting signature, and integrated door handles. At the front, it sports new glowing signature wing lights around the grille that feature dynamic illumination, making the wings appear to flutter when the car is charging. The lighting also indicates charge stats. The Mazda6e's 19-inch wheels sports a range-boosting aerodynamic design featuring a sporty five-spoke design with flat black surfaces.
At the rear, the car sports a stylish rear lamp design and horizontal taillight bar, while newly designed Mazda lettering replaces the brand logo badge at the rear of the car. Another unique feature is its electronically extendable rear spoiler.
Inside the Mazda6e, a panoramic roof allows natural light to flood the cabin, with its spacious interior inspired by the Japanese concept of 'Ma'. Premium materials feature throughout both the available trim levels: Takumi and Takumi Plus. The former features beige or black artificial leather, while the latter offers premium tan Nappa leather. Its smart driver-focused cockpit features a 14.6-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch instrument set complemented by an augmented reality head-up display. It also features a 330-litre rear boot and a 70-litre front boot.
Additionally, Mazda has stated that when the Mazda6e arrives in U.K. showrooms, it will be a "fantastic and timely addition to our multi-solution approach that includes mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric offerings."
