Auto China 2026 plays host to DENZA Z's global debut

DENZA, BYD's premium tech-oriented brand, has turned heads at Auto China 2026 with the global debut of the DENZA Z, heralded as the world's first intelligent electric supercar.

Displayed in production convertible form and a soft-top retractable roof, the Z embraces DENZA's "Pure Emotion" design philosophy by seamlessly blending carbon fibre with aerodynamic performance. It also has ducts on the bonnet that act as air channels to help boost levels of downforce at high speeds.

Its body architecture is described as a balance of rigidity, lightweight construction, and packaging. The chassis features DiSus-M, an intelligent electro-magnetic, body-control system engineered specifically to cope with high performance - over a thousand horsepower and a century sprint timing of less than two seconds.

Long distance driving is made possible by its second gen Blade Battery and Flash Charging.

DENZA has said that the Z will have its full global launch at this year's iteration of the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Z has already commenced testing and lap-record runs at the Nurburgring Nordschleife and will have its full global launch in Q3 2026 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K.

DENZA has also launched a public competition to name each of the three specific editions of Z that will ultimately reach customers: Standard, Convertible, and Track.

The brand has promised that further technical specifications will be announced in due course.
