Binter and Co Pte Ltd have held its annual Appreciation Gala at the Ballroom of the Grand Copthorne Hotel to recognise the contributions of its value chain partners for their valuable support in 2019.

But beyond just celebrations, the Gala dinner also served as an opportunity to introduce its latest joint venture with Toyota Motor Group's sole general trading company, Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific.
More key facts about the Toyota Tsusho Corporation were introduced through a corporate video at the dinner, which outlined its diverse portfolio ranging from auto dealerships in emerging countries to operations in areas as far as steel and food production, and in emerging regions within Asia-Pacific all the way to the Africa.
As the Toyota Motor Group's sole general trading company, Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific gathers information and promotes the development of new business from a global perspective. As automotive professionals with unique capabilities and know-how, it also strives to lead the Toyota Group in the challenge to develop the evolution of next-generation mobility to contribute to the development of both society and the Toyota Group.
The new partnership, named Toyotsu Binter Automotive Parts Pte Ltd (TBAP), thus seeks to pool the resources of both Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific and Binter and Co Pte Ltd together in order to create an entire automotive parts ecosystem.

Both firms will integrate their tyre and automotive parts offerings into a holistic supply chain. Some of the key brands in the portfolio include Bridgestone, Dunlop, Continental, Goodyear, Kumho, GS Yuasa and several others. TBAP's strategic vision is built upon a consolidated value chain.
Mr. Shigeharu Kato, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Toyota Tsusho, explained that the new joint venture was an opportunity for both firms to capitalise on the aging car population in the region, as well as a lack of aftermarket parts suppliers.
Mr. Marcus Lim of TBAP also informed us at the dinner that despite the varied nature of Asian and Middle East markets, the new joint venture will continue to put in effort into localising its operations, adopting a multi-market and multi-channel methodology for long-term viability. More importantly, the new firm will continue to put 'people before products', ensuring that Toyotsu Binter is built upon trust and integrity with all its partners despite its growing market outreach.
The dinner was kicked off with a traditional Japanese sake breaking ceremony, conducted to bring good luck and good tidings for all parties of the new joint venture, followed by a more familiar Chinese Lo Hei, which also functioned as a symbolic gesture to merge both Japanese and Singaporean business traditions.
Guests at the event were also treated to a live musical performance and participated in various lucky draws through the dinner.
