BMW M4 retains spirited appeal despite lacking a fixed roof

The M4 Convertible replicates the performance of the new BMW M3 Sedan and all new M4 Coupe, but emphasises its stylish and distinctive appearance through its individual character. The high-performance sports convertible enters its fifth generation with a new chapter in its history headed 'M4 Convertible'.
The M4 Convertible shares the elegant lines of its open-top 4 Series sibling while styling cues like a signature power dome for the bonnet, striking exterior mirrors and flared wheel arches clearly link it as a member of the BMW M3/M4 model family.
The three part retractable metal roof has a full 'noise-absorbing' headliner and possesses improved sound insulation over its predecessor by up to 2dB. With the roof down, load capacity is reduced to 220 litres from 370 litres.
Powering the M4 Convertible is the newly developed in-line six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, generating a maximum output of 431bhp from its 3.0-litre displacement and serves up a peak torque of 550Nm. The M4 Convertible posts fuel consumption of just 9.1L/100km travelled - equating to CO2 emissions of up to 213g/km.
Fitted with the standard six-speed manual, the car needs just 4.6 seconds to execute the century sprint - dropping to 4.4 seconds when specified with the optional seven-speed M Double Clutch shifter. Top speed is electronically governed at 250km/h.

Stopping power is provided by the standard fitted M compound brakes, which boast impressive feel and high resistance to fade.
Like its siblings, the M4 Convertible displays a strict adherence to the lightweight construction principle.
For example, the bonnet and front side panels are made from aluminium. In addition, ultra-lightweight and highly rigid Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) is used in many areas. Its extensive weight saving measures produces a kerb weight of just 1,750kg - around 60kg lighter than its predecessor.
The cabin can be upholstered from among four exclusive colours for the standard leather - which can be expanded to nine further colours under the BMW Individual range. The sporty and dynamic character of the interior is the product of striking standard equipment details like the M double-spoke leather steering wheel, chrome trim and colour contrast stitching.
Complementing an already extensive specification, the M4 Convertible can also be ordered with a wealth of attractive options to further enhance its aesthetic appeal, dynamic prowess and comfort levels.
