In the first COE bidding exercise for April, Cat A COE premiums drop to $37,000 with Cat B and Cat E hovering around the same level.
Premiums for Cat A, for cars up to 1,600cc in engine capacity and with an output of no more than 130bhp, decreased by $1,000 (2.6 percent) and ended at $37,000.
Premiums for Cat B, larger cars with more than 130bhp or engine displacements larger than 1,600cc, went up by $595 (1.6 percent) and ended at $37,605.
In Cat E, the open category, prices also rose by $39 (0.1 percent), with premiums closing at $38,039.
It comes as no surprise that COE premiums haven't changed much since the last tender due to the fact that there have been no major new car launches recently, and that buying demand has held steady.
