Commuters to get longer sheltered walkways from MRT stations
30 May 2014|2,924 views
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is working on improving the sheltered walkway network from MRT stations in the North-Eastern and North-Western Singapore.
Commuters will soon get sheltered walkways that stretch up to 400 metres from 59 MRT stations, with works expected to complete by 2018. Signage and maps, together with rest stops with health information, will also be built along the walkways.
This is part of the LTA's plan to add more than 200km of sheltered walkways - four times the current 46km - to the public transport network.
