Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre Singapore (HMGICS) and M.Y World Preschool have announced a collaboration that will see 860 Kindergarten Two children from the latter participate in 43 Smart Food Lab workshop sessions at HMGICS throughout 2026.
This collaboration marks a first for HMGICS and will provide children with the opportunities to explore the high-tech Smart Farm, offering them a unique hands-on learning experience. The learning journey is aimed at building curiosity among children by exposing them to a place where technology and nature meet to offer a look into how the future of food is grown.
In the Smart Food Lab, children will become scientists for a day, engaging in hands-on and sensory experiments involving seeing, touching, tasting, and more. Powered by fresh greens harvested directly from the HMGICS Smart Farm, the workshop provides a fun and interactive platform for children to explore science, sustainability, and future food systems in a meaningful and memorable way.
This experience also fosters early discussions on food security, sustainable urban agriculture, and innovative solutions for highly populated cities like Singapore. By linking real-world technology to classroom learning, the initiative supports M.Y World's commitment to equipping children with skills for a rapidly changing world.
In addition to school-based learning journeys, the Smart Food Lab is also open for public bookings on weekends. Fees collected from both school-based learning journeys and public weekend sessions will be contributed to the President's Challenge Fund.
