Hyundai and Toray sign agreement for future mobility

Hyundai has signed an agreement for strategic cooperation with Toray Industries, a pioneer in carbon fibre and composite material technology. The agreement was signed to advance material innovation for a new era of mobility.

Toray has an extensive portfolio in being a global leader in carbon fibre. Various advanced industries use carbon fibre due to its lightweight, high-strength and heat resistant properties - including the automotive and aviation industries. Toray states that it has developed innovative technology and materials focused on electrification and sustainability. Meanwhile, Hyundai believes this partnership strengthens its position as a global leader in mobility solutions.

The Hyundai Motor Group aims to adopt a comprehensive approach through pursuing fundamental advancements in material technology. Combined with its increasing focus on electrification and software-defined vehicles (SDVs), the Korean firm believes the new partnership will play a key role in its future mobility strategy.
