The new Verna features design elements such as sweptback headlights, a bold grille, and rear view mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, to give it a miniature-Sonata look. Inside, Hyundai has given the Verna better quality materials and an improved design.
There are two new Gamma petrol engines for the Verna. The first is a 1.4-litre that produces 106bhp and 135Nm of torque. This base model comes with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The other engine is a 1.6-litre unit with 121bhp and 155Nm of torque, and is available with only a four-speed automatic.
The Verna uses an all new platform, and the car measures 4340mm long, 1700mm wide and 1460mm high, with a wheelbase of 2570mm which Hyundai claims is the biggest in its class. Boot space measures in at 454 litres and can "easily accommodate as many as four golf bags plus three small tote bags."
