It looks like most electric vehicles sold in the U.S.A are set to come with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port in the near future.
After Ford, Honda, and Volvo amongst others opted to make the switch, Jaguar has also now announced that it will join the charging standard first championed by Tesla. All new Jaguars sold in the U.S.A, Canada, and Mexico will utilise the NACS port from 2025. Jaguar will additionally source adapters from Tesla to support existing owners of the I-PACE electric SUV.
Jaguar states that its in-house battery and power electronics have been designed to optimise charging rates from both Tesla's V3 and V4 Superchargers, allowing owners of its vehicles to attain the maximum charging power for whichever Supercharger type they choose.
Jaguar only recently reaffirmed in April 2023 its goal of repositioning itself as an electric-first, modern luxury carmaker by 2030.
