Kia India has announced that it has commenced mass production of the Kia Syros, a versatile SUV officially unveiled in December 2024, and specifically designed to meet the needs of customers in India.
At its plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, the brand held a milestone ceremony to mark the beginning of the five-seater SUV's production, which recorded 10,258 pre-orders. Among those who attended the event were senior Kia executives and employees, including Ho Sung Hong, President and CEO of Kia Corporation, and Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director of Kia India.
In the cabin of the Syros, an emphasis on functionality and design helps maximise interior space, with the introduction of innovative technology setting new standards in its class. The SUV also introduces first-in-segment rear sliding, reclining and ventilated seats, as well as cutting-edge connectivity with more than 80 connected features. It also offers a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon Premium Eight Speaker Sound System, and first-in-segment over-the-air (OTA) software update capability.
The Syros' safety capabilities are further enhanced through its Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), with 16 autonomous safety features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go. This is complemented by a comprehensive suite of 20 standard hi-safety features such as Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist control, and Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold.
Sales of the Kia Syros will officially begin in India from 1 February 2025, with the first customer deliveries to follow shortly after. The brand plans to expand the SUV's availability to markets in the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Middle East regions.
