Kia has unveiled its EV4 and Concept EV2 models at the brand's 2025 Kia EV Day, which was held on 27 February 2025 in Tarragona, Spain.
Versatile and practical, the EV4 is an athletic, all-rounder representing Kia's first electrified saloon (four-door) and hatchback (five-door), which was launched to redefine the C-segment and shown in both saloon and hatchback body styles.
Built on Kia's dedicated 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), both variants offer 58.3kWh (standard) and 81.4kWh (long-range) battery options, it is powered by a 150kW (201bhp) motor offering a top speed of 170km/h and a century sprint timing of 7.4 seconds for both variants.
This enables the EV4 saloon to deliver a class-leading target range of 430km in the case of the standard model and 630km in the long-range. The EV4 hatchback offers a long-range projection of 590km when fully charged. A 10% to 80% charge can be accomplished in as little as 31 minutes, with the EV4 also featuring an 11kW on-board charger accepting both single-phase and three-phase inputs.
Utilising a combination of physical design and technological elements, the Kia's smartphone-based Digital Key 2.0 provides simple access, engine start, and remote-control functions. Its customisable i-Pedal 3.0 system works across all levels of regenerative braking to help further improve passenger comfort and the ease of driving. Incorporating 12.3-inch, 5.3-inch, and 12.3-inch screens, the EV4's connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) sets class-leading standards for in-car entertainment.
As for the Concept EV2, it is an agile B-segment electric SUV that is instantly identifiable as part of the Kia EV family, featuring Kia's Star Map signature lighting with an open lamp design without cover glass.
Despite its compact, city-friendly dimensions, the Concept EV2's profile combines an upscale exterior with a solid stance, featuring a spacious cabin with second-row seats that fold up, allowing the front-row seats to slide back as far as possible. This creates an expansive area that users can take advantage of when the vehicle is parked.
Diagonal LED lighting on its front door cards beautifully accentuate the contrast between the front and rear spaces. With no central pillar and rear-hinged back doors delivering an expansive opening that improves accessibility, occupants can also easily connect with the outdoors.
The EV4 saloon will be produced at Kia's Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in Korea, while the hatchback will be produced in Slovakia to target sales in Europe. Production and sales for the saloon model will commence in March 2025 in Korea, with the Europe-only hatchback model commencing production and sales in the second half of 2025. Production for North America and other regions is planned for the later part of 2025.
As for the Kia EV2, it is expected to launch in Europe and other regions in 2026.
