LEVC reaches carbon emission savings milestone

The London Electric Vehicle Company has announced that its fleet of TX taxis, available in London and a few other cities, have now prevented more than 200,000 tonnes of CO2 from entering the earth's atmosphere.
This emissions saving is said to be equivalent to the emission of more than 111,000 passenger flights from London to Sydney. It states that its fleet has already travelled more than 1.1 billion kilometres globally. The London Electric Vehicle Company has produced more than 10,000 examples of the plug-in range-extender hybrid TX. In London, the TX has now overtaken the diesel-powered TX4 as the most common black cab, with more than 7,500 TXs operating on the streets of the capital.
The TX offers seating for up to six, and has been designed to accommodate all regardless of age or disability. The vehicle also includes an integrated wheelchair ramp, and is able to house a forward-facing wheelchair. It offers an electric-only range of 125km, although a range extender allows it to cover a total of 536km between top-ups.
2023 marks the 200th anniversary since the first Hackney carriage was licenced in London, and 75 years since the first 'black cab' was born - in the form of the FX3. LEVC manufactures the purpose-built, range-extender hybrid TX at a state-of-the-art facility in Coventry, U.K.
