MG reaches one million milestone in Europe

MG Motor has achieved a significant milestone by delivering its one millionth customer vehicle in Europe, marking a remarkable comeback for the British automotive brand.
The company returned to its U.K. home market in 2011 with the MG6, and has since established itself as a prominent player across the European automotive landscape. The brand now operates through over 1,300 dealer partners spanning 34 markets throughout the region.
MG has credited its European success largely to its strategic focus on affordable electric and hybrid vehicles, positioning the company ahead of many competitors in the transition to electrified mobility. The first-generation MG4 EV has been particularly instrumental in driving this growth, contributing to the brand's impressive delivery of 317,000 electric vehicles across Europe.
Building on this momentum, MG recently launched the updated MG4 EV for the 2026 model year, alongside the all-new MG4 EV Urban, further expanding its electric vehicle portfolio.
The company has also pioneered performance-focused electric vehicles with the introduction of the MG Cyberster, a dramatically styled convertible that MG dubs the future of open-top motoring. Designed at MG's London studio, the award-winning Cyberster featured prominently during the brand's centenary celebrations at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
MG's hybrid technology has proven equally successful, with the company reporting a substantial surge in orders for its 'Hybrid+' vehicles during 2025. These efficient and practical models contributed 139,000 deliveries, further accelerating the brand's growth trajectory.
Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director at MG Motor UK, reflected on the achievement: "MG has successfully returned to Europe's motoring mainstream with its one millionth customer delivery. The underlying affection for MG, the iconic British sports car brand, which includes a flourishing classic car culture and many passionate owner groups, is valuable and greatly appreciated."
Pigounakis emphasised that while heritage remains important, MG's contemporary success stems from offering customers extensive vehicle choice and adopting forward-looking approaches to hybrid and electric technology. The brand has consistently invested in relevant, attainable technology while maintaining a compelling value proposition that resonates with European consumers.
This milestone represents MG's successful transformation from a traditional British marque to a modern, technology-focused automotive brand competing effectively in Europe's evolving marketplace.
