The fast, agile and breathtaking sports sedan raises the sportiness up another notch with new touches and enhanced features.
The New 2011 Lexus IS 250 adopts a new front grille and bumper while still offering a new generation design structure to embody the L-finesse philosophy. Various design elements have been changed especially around the front; including the strengthening of Lexus face characteristics and the characterisation of headlamps. A dynamic-looking moulding reminisce air flowing with an emphasis on depth, a three-dimensional feel, and "Wide & Low" stance express the evolution of Lexus design cues.
The front grille frame adopts a shape with depth, with the aim of further evolving a three-dimensional feel of the arrow head while the vertical grille bars take on a re-designed shape to express a low centre of gravity and vibrant feel. Each side of the lower grille adopts an intake shape that is connected to the cooling duct, to realise a practical moulding with deep design cues.
An arrowhead Light Emitting Diode (LED) Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) is introduced to the High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamp equipped IS 250 Premium model, allowing easy visual confirmation of the Lexus identity. Dark smoke coating is also applied to the headlamp extension to express a bold look while the front fog lamp has been re-designed as well.
The tightly carved rear end and short overhang which emphasizes the car's stable stance now comes with a new re-designed tail pipe baffle shape which has been changed to a thick and almost true circle shape to express a sportier feel. The lower end of the rear bumper is also now equipped with a stability plate to help further ensure steering stability.
The turn signal lamp lens has also been changed from amber colour to a pink smoke clear lens for a unified colour tone whereas the backup lamp lens colour has been changed from clear to pink smoke.
While the re-styled new 17-inch rims aim to create an elegant design, the load under the springs has been reduced by decreasing the mass to the lowest possible level for its size to contribute to an enhanced driving performance.
